Named one of the Contractors’ Top 50 New Products by Equipment Today
Contractors are frequently hired to clear land for commercial and residential development projects, thin forests in urban areas to control invasive species, and manage timber to aid in the creation of recreational trails.
There’s another option to help tree care professionals eliminate steps in the traditional vegetation management process — the Vermeer FT100 forestry tractor with above-ground mulcher attachment. The FT100 can fell a tree, turn brush to mulch, providing an efficient solution for contractors.
The FT100 above-ground mulcher attachment features a ringed rotor that is 18 inches (45.7 cm) in diameter, and is equipped with 18 disks and 17 tip mounts that guide material into the cutting path. By controlling the depth of cut, the engine can be loaded to peak performance. With interchangeable rotor tips, which come in sharp planar, clad-faced planar and impact-resistant tip options, operators can customize the machine to the jobsite conditions, without having to rebalance the drum each time.
Powered by a 111 hp (82 kW) Perkins E3TA Tier 4 interim engine, the FT100 easily cuts and mulches small trees, bushes and brush. The FT100 has a torsion suspended track system with two independent axles and four independent wheel carriages per track, resulting in a smoother ride for operators. The FT100 has an industry-leading 15 inches (38.1 cm) of ground clearance to keep you moving in rough terrain.
The FT100 is equipped with a rearview camera and an in-cab monitor to give operators more visibility and maneuvering capabilities to get the job done faster.
The FT100 forestry tractor with above-ground mulcher attachment was just named one of the 2015 Contractors’ Top 50 New Products by Equipment Today magazine. It is available now through the Vermeer global dealer network and will be on display in the Vermeer booth (No. 747) at TCI Expo 2015.
