Vermeer MX300 and MX300D mix systems maximize efficiency of HDD operations

Having the right mix system can help you achieve maximum productivity on your horizontal direction drilling (HDD) jobsite. For those operating a medium or large Navigator® horizontal directional drills, the MX300 mix system or the MX300D mix system are a great choice for you.

Designed for ease to fit jobsite needs

The MX300 and MX300D are designed for you to maintain machine performance with efficient ways to manage necessary components. The occasional replacement of roll jets is made convenient with access through the top of the tank, as well as access to engine and pump service components. Daily tasks, such as filling and draining, are simplified with a freshwater fill feature and two valves for system draining.

You can configure the setup of these mix systems to fit your jobsite needs. They are adaptable as you can set up the power unit with one or two tanks – the TK750 tank with 750 gallons (2,839.1 L) or the TK1000 tank with 1,000 gallons (3,785.4 L).

Tapered bottom tank

The rectangular tank design of the MX300 and MX300D can assist in drainage and help minimize buildup. The slim design allows for ease of transport for two tanks inside a standard-sized enclosed truck, giving you options and flexibility in laying out your jobsite. The tapered bottom helps prevent drilling fluid additives from settling when paired with the suction hose and wide-mouth hopper.

Difference in the details

These two mixing system units are nearly the same, but the MX300D runs on diesel. The diesel option allows you to use the same fuel type that runs the drill. While both are equipped with a 16-gallon (60.6-L) fuel tank and 350-gallons per min (1,324.9-L/min) pump flow, the MX300 has a 23-horsepower (17.2-kW) Kohler ECH 730 EFI engine and the MX300D has a 24.7-horsepower (18.42-kW) CAT C1.1 engine.

The diesel unit’s power pack is larger, measuring in at 69 inches (175.3 cm) long, 56 inches (142.2 cm) wide, 51 inches (129.5 cm) tall and weighing 1,800 pounds (816 kg). This is compared to the MX300 power pack which measures at 52 inches (132.1 cm) long, 40 inches (101.6 cm) wide, 51 inches (129.5 cm) tall and weighing 680 pounds (308 kg).
